About Us

The New Jersey Association of Osteopathic Physicians and Surgeons (NJAOPS) is the sixth largest state affiliate of the American Osteopathic Association. NJAOPS represents the interests of more than 8,500 active osteopathic physicians, residents, interns and medical students.

Founded in 1901, NJAOPS is one of the most active medical associations in New Jersey, with 12 county societies, and the largest medical conference in the region (AROC).

NJAOPS has a long history of providing high quality education and resources to benefit our members as clinicians, as well as professionals. Our numerous programs and services are designed to keep our members informed on the most up-to-date medical, legislative, legal and business related information available. Through live conferences, publications, and online media, NJAOPS provides awareness and understanding that help osteopathic professionals advance patient care. In addition, we engage in many advocacy activities that involve legislative relations and scholarship opportunities to support the future of osteopathic medicine within the state.

Legislative Action Center

While our members are treating patients and providing healthcare, NJAOPS is defending their practice rights. NJAOPS carefully monitors state and federal legislative activities that affect how our members practice medicine, and we keep them informed on the issues in Trenton that will matter most to them. We aggressively respond on behalf of our members, and bring critical concerns of osteopathic physicians before legislative and regulatory leadership.

CME Programs and Events

NJAOPS is accredited by the American Osteopathic Association for AOA Category 1-A CME credits, as well as the Medical Society of New Jersey for AMA PRA Category 1 Credits(TM) for continuing medical education. We strive to provide relevant, timely and highly qualified educational activities that address gaps in knowledge and improve patient care. We have many live event opportunities, as well as online channels, to provide convenient and enjoyable learning interactions. Click here to learn more about our CME Programs and Events.
